While there are not many golf courses on the main islands of Venice themselves, there's no reason why you can't enjoy Venice golf during your holiday. In fact, there's a championship course right on the Lido resort island of Venice, plus several great courses in the surrounding region.

Venice Golf Club - Golf course

Located on the southernmost tip of Lido island, this golf course is the most convenient location for Venice golf. Rated as one of Italy's top ten courses, it has been the venue for the Italian Open more than 10 times. It's one of the few links courses in Italy, and boasts marvellous greenery together with challenging water hazards. Open daily except Mondays. Green fees €60 midweek and €70 at weekends. 18 holes, par 72.

Jesolo Golf Club - Golf course

Located just 25km from central Venice near the town of Jesolo on the Italian mainland, this course is good nearby option for Venice golf. Designed by architect Marco Croze , this course has a nice mix of sand bunkers, long fairways and water hazards which is suitable for both novices and experienced players. Green fees €55 midweek, €70 at weekends, or €45 and €55 respectively for nine holes. 18 holes, par 72.

Golf Club Ca'Della Nave - Golf course

Situated in the town of Martellago on the Italian mainland directly opposite Venice, this course is a 30-minute drive away. Designed by golf champion Arnold Palmer, this first class course consists of an 18-hole championship round and a 9-hole executive course. Palmer's course is treacherous, with plenty of large bunkers and water hazards on 12 of the holes. Green fees €60 midweek, €70 at weekends and holidays, or €35 and €45 respectively for nine holes. 18 holes, par 72.

Golf Club Lignano - Golf course

Located on the Adriatic Coast a little more than an hour's drive from Venice, this course is a good option for a Venice golf day trip. Also designed by Marco Croze, this course offers a suggestive challenge with undulating fairways and hidden hazards. Open all year round, the course has a driving range plus a good clubhouse with restaurant and bar, as well as a pro-shop and a hotel. Green fees €63 midweek, €72 weekends and holidays. 18 holes, par 72.
